The senator of the Cambio Radical Party and former president of Congress, Arthur Char, spoke to EL HERALDO about his main concerns regarding the tax reform submitted by the national government on August 8.
Char, who is part of the Senate Third Committeemade a wake-up call to the government of Gustavo Petroc and to the bank historical pactso that the discussions “find in the corresponding order, as determined by law.”
“The government is doing things backwards and that is annoying for the country. It seems to me that we Colombians should know before discussing a tax reform, which we have already heard will increase money. what does the national budget consist of?”, said the legislator in dialogue with EL HERALDO.
He explained: “Because of my many years of experience in the Fourth Commission and now in the Third Commission, I can assure you that the most important thing for our country is the law of the general budget of the nation. That is the trunk of the tree and the tax is a branch of the budget. When the budget is set, people understand what the government wants, because then we know the priorities and the roadmap. Then, we still don’t know where this government is goingThey want to raise 25 billion pesos, but it is not clear why they want that.
