Douglas Ross loses his voice on the eve of the party conference –

Conservative Scottish leader Douglas Ross fell ill the day before a party conference in Aberdeen.

A Conservative spokesman said that despite Mr. Ross’s illness, Boris Johnson was still in the Northeast for his Friday speech.

He also plans to have a short talk with party believers on Saturday.

The illness caused Justice Minister Jamie Green to skip questions from the Prime Minister, who stopped on Thursday.

The party said Mr. Ross is conducting regular tests on Covid, which has been negative so far.

A spokesman for the Scottish Conservative Party said: “Douglas Ross has been sick for 24 hours. He had a sore throat, so he couldn’t say the prime minister’s questions today.

“He had a Kovid test every day, they were all negative.

“Douglas will speak to Scottish Conservatives again at the Prime Minister’s speech on Friday and on Saturday he will read a slightly shortened version of his keynote address.”

Ross’s meeting with the Prime Minister on Friday will be the first when the Scottish Conservative leader called on the Prime Minister to step down from the Downing Street party.

Since then, the MSP has rejected the appeal, saying that the discussion of Johnson’s membership of the 10th party before the country’s closure ran into the possibility of Moscow invading Ukraine.

While mocking political dissidents in Ukraine, the Labor Party accused him of using the conflict in Ukraine to “return to its principles”. The Liberal Democrats claimed he had a “jellyfish backbone”, while the SNP claimed he had “no back”.

Speaking to the BBC on Scottish Peace Morning last week, Ross said the occupation of Moscow raises the possibility of a disagreement over the party blockade on Downing Street.

I have full confidence that the Prime Minister will now address this situation. He needs our support. The UK government needs our support. President Zelensky praised the Prime Minister at a joint meeting of the House of Commons, parliamentarians and colleagues, and that is the goal right now.

“So, this is where all our resources should be directed. We must support the government, we must support the Ukrainian people, we must support the Ukrainian government, because right now the real threat to everything is from Vladimir Putin. These, although serious, are not the actions of a few years ago. These are the actions that now take place when people die, children die and the company is destroyed through no fault of her, by the actions of Russia and Vladimir Putin.

When asked if the change in his heart made him seem “mild,” Mr. Ross replied, “I don’t care. I don’t really care. I know political opponents will criticize me for that. No problem. I needed to. make a decision about what was happening on the world stage right now, to observe what people were talking about, where people were contacting me. ”
