Volt expelled Nilüfer Gündoğan from the House of Representatives. At the meeting, where Gündoğan was not present, MPs Laurens Dassen and Marieke Koekkoek voted in favour.
Gundogan sent his own vote against his departure, but to no avail. It was already clear that the other two band members did not want to continue with him.
The party announced on Friday that the lawmaker has not yet left the group. According to Gundogan, this undermines the judge’s decision. He recently decided in his favor, saying the decision to quit him was made for the wrong reasons.
“Political Difference”
After the group meeting, party chairman Dassen said: “Of course we also sought advice. We did everything according to the rules. There is a political difference in how you appear to treat people. We don’t share the same values. about how you did it.”
He acknowledged that the first vote was held this morning on an amendment to the group rules that would allow Gundogan to be fired.
He said he was determined to attend the Gündoğan group meeting yesterday, but was ill this morning.
