Italy at the 2022 Women’s Volleyball World Cup

Italvolley’s adventure continues in the 2022 Women’s Volleyball World Cup. After the two clear 3-0 victories over Cameroon and Puerto Rico, today the blue of Davide Mazzanti will seek his third consecutive triumph against Belgium, Italy’s direct competitor for the leadership of Group A. The game is played today at 18:00 and can be seen live on open TV on Rai and streaming on RaiPlay. In the Group A ranking, the Netherlands, Belgium and Italy are vying for the lead with 6 points.

Azzurre’s ambition is to win the trophy after having won the continental (2021), snatching the title from reigning champions Serbia. All matches of the Italian sextet will be broadcast live on TV and outdoors for everyone on Rai, on Sky channels they will be broadcast only for subscribers.

The Women’s Volleyball World Cup takes place from September 23 to October 15 between the Netherlands and Poland. There are 24 qualified teams divided into four groups (pool A, B, C, D) of 6 teams. Italy will play all the first phase matches in Arnhem (Netherlands): it is included in Group A along with Cameroon, Puerto Rico, Belgium, Kenya and the Netherlands.

In case of qualification, Azzurre will travel to Rotterdam (Netherlands) which, together with the games scheduled for Lodz (Poland), will host the second phase of the competition from 4 to 9 October. From the quarter-finals onwards, Apeldoorn (Netherlands) and Gliwice (Poland) will host the main challenges (11 October) that will continue with the semi-finals (12 and 13 October) and the finals (15 October).

Italy’s score at the Women’s Volleyball World Cup

The Women’s Volleyball World Cup is divided into a preliminary round, a second round and a final round which includes the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals for medals. After the first phase, the 16 qualified teams (four for each group) will be divided into two other groups of 8 (E, F) that will determine the passage to the quarter-finals.
