A tragedy that turned into a mystery. In South America the case is causing a stir Johanna Colla, a popular professional bodybuilder who died after participating in a prestigious tournament, finishing in second place. The International Federation of Bodybuilding Argentina has officially spoken of “cardiac arrest”, but police also want to see clearly why statements from family members suggest there is more to the woman’s death.

The thirty-year-old Argentinian had moved from Lomas de Zamora to São Paulo in Brazil to participate in the South American Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships in the Woman’s Phisique category. A competition that ended with the silver medal, which was celebrated in the post-race also on Instagram with posts: if before she spoke of “dreams that transcend borders”, then Johana posted the images of her proud proof of the goals achieved.

The next day, however, Colla was found lifeless in the hotel. His niece Daniela Yael Colla, via Facebook clarified: “I had no intention of publishing anything yet, but unfortunately today we woke up to this sad news that Joha is dead. I beg you, please don’t ask what happened to him, because until the autopsy is done, we won’t be sure.”

The Argentine Federation in a note announced: “While sleeping, he suffered a cardiac arrest. The hotel’s medical team and the Brazilian Emergency Medical Service performed over an hour of resuscitation, which unfortunately was unsuccessful. The interim doctor informed us that it was a sudden death. We extend our deepest prayers to his family and our entire bodybuilding community.”

Johana’s mother, in an interview with Chronicle HD, showed that she wants to go all the way, so that a story is clarified: “He knew he was in danger. They did something to him, they gave him something. I have doubts about his death. I spoke to her at nine pm and she was happy, she was fine. I doubt they did anything to him. I asked three times ‘Are you okay?’ I was with my nieces, their daughters. The three of us talked to her together: ‘I’m fine, calm down,’ she told me. And at two in the morning we got the call that she died. I still can’t believeThe”.

Apparently doubts about what happened inside the hotel room where Colla wasn’t alone. Upon arrival at the hotel, the 30-year-old was transferred to a pair with another athlete from the delegation. The latter’s actions are being investigated by investigators because apparently there may be some background. Mrs Colla pointed her finger at this: “If he died of ill health, we understand. But with everything that’s happened, we’re worried. Nobody is responsible, we are on the other side, we do not understand anything”.
