O racism its a big problem. A problem that worries society and that also closely affects sportspeople. In a story on Instagram, the Italian athlete told his story, which really makes the skin crawl. Zaynab Dosso was informed: “Put **** foreign, go back to your country”. The woman who used these epithets approached her and her friends asking for alms, and when she refused, she left with the offenses.
Then Dosso added: “I don’t feel protected. Right now I’m afraid to leave, but not because someone could make a discriminatory gesture towards me, but because of people’s indifference”.
Dosso says that many saw that scene, but no one intervened: “Many were silent, there were even those who laughed. It would be good for those who won the elections to give a strong signal against racism. If the common people today feel stronger, they believe they are free to raise their voices and go unpunished. Whoever will be in charge needs to say loud and clear that this is not so.” Only her friend Johanelis Herrera, also a 4×100 athlete, was outraged: “She started crying in anger”.
Zaynab Dosso was born in 1999 in Ivory Coast, at the age of 10 he moved to Italy, exactly to Reggio Emilia. At the age of majority she became an Italian citizen in all respects, obtained several national records and above all won bronze at the European Championships in Munich with the 4 × 100.
