Greenwood, arrested for violating the terms of his bail

Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood has been arrested for violating bail conditions imposed after his January arrest for rape and assault.

As the BBC reported on Saturday, his new arrest took place at his home in Bowdon, in the Manchester area.

A spokesman for the Greater Manchester Police Department said in a statement from the British public company that they had been made aware of “a claim that a 21-year-old man had breached his bail conditions and an arrest was made on Saturday”.

He added that “the investigation is ongoing at the moment”.

According to the Daily Mail newspaper, the young player, who was once an England international, allegedly breached bail by contacting his alleged victim.

Greenwood was released from his first arrest on February 2, after which his bail was extended twice, most recently in June.

The striker was accused of assault and rape by his then-girlfriend in January, via videos and photos he posted on his social networks.

The images of Harriet Robson, Greenwood’s girlfriend, are disturbing, with bruises and cuts, in addition to exposing an audio in which the football player would force Robson to have sex with him.

United have removed him from the team and he will not train or play with the ‘Red Devils’ until the facts are cleared up.

His last appearance with the ‘Red Devils’ shirt was on January 22, although he continues to receive his salary.

As a result of his arrest, Nike terminated the sponsorship deal with the player and Electronica Arts removed him from the roster in the FIFA 22 video game.
