The second quarterfinals of world Cup in between Argentina AND Netherlands it was vibrant and at times dramatic, especially in the final minutes when Louis van Gaal’s men charged forward in a desperate search for an equalizer, achieving it just before the final whistle after more than 10 minutes of added time, thus forcing extra time.

At 2-1 for the Argentines, just before the 90th minute, the great tension on the pitch exploded into a fight that also involved the two benches.with Spanish referee Lahoz having to work hard to restore calm, eventually picking up a yellow card for Leandro Paredesor the first architect of the fight.

The Juventus midfielder, who came on in the 66th minute in place of De Paul, had brought Aké down in midfield, but above all in a fit of madness, he then kicked the ball wildly towards the Dutch bench which was a few paces away🇧🇷

It was inevitable, at this point, that the orange team players sitting on the bench would enter the field to do justice, preceded, however, by Virgil van Dijk, who went against Paredes knocking him to the ground. The situation at that moment seemed really explosive, with Molina who was at the mercy of the Dutch, while the other Argentine players furiously ran to the scene of the fight and even the respective staffs of the two teams got in the way to lend a hand.

In this chaos, two old acquaintances from Italian football also came forward as Samuel AND Davis, assistants to Scaloni and van Gaal respectively, certainly not known for their ability to act as peacemakers. The Argentine wisely stayed further away from the action, already booked in the first half, while the Dutchman got dangerously close to the epicenter of the fight.

However, the situation calmed down within minutes and the match resumed with regularity, going down in extra time after Weghorst’s last-gasp equalizer.
