World Cup in Qatar 2022
The World Cup in Qatar was rocked by a new tragedy. TV photojournalist Al Kass dies Khalid al-Misslam. After the tragic death of the American journalist Grant Wahl, during the Netherlands-Argentina in circumstances still “to be clarified”, another member of the sports press present at the World Cup also died. His death was announced on Twitter by the television channel “Al Kass” and also reported by the Gulf Times: “Al Kass TV photojournalist Khalid al-Misslam has recently passed away.
Al-Misslam, a Qatari, he died suddenly while covering the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. We believe in Allah’s mercy and forgiveness for him and send our deepest condolences to his family.” Also in this case, the causes that led to his death are yet to be clarified. What is known is that he also passed away while serving during the World Cup in Qatar. Shocked Al Kass TV colleagues who on social media expressed all their pain through a message on social accounts: “Al Kass channels mourn the death of Khaled al-Misslam, a photographer in the creative department.”

Al-Kass TV is a Qatari television channel that is part of the beIN Sports network and has indicated Saturday, December 10, as the day of the colleague’s death. A death that has already become a case since it arrived immediately after the mysterious death of Grant Wahl during the match between Netherlands and Argentina. In comparison with Khalid al-Misslam, for Wahl the causes of death must be attributed to a sudden illness. A thesis that the victim’s brother never accepted: “They killed him.”
In this case, however, for the Qatari photojournalist it has not yet been specified how he died. “Died suddenly” read the various notes published by Al-Kass TV and the Gulf Times. We will have to wait for new details to be known about this umpteenth tragedy in the world of the press during the World Cup in Qatar, but someone is already starting to think badly. Of course, it’s too early to jump to conclusions, at least out of respect for the victim’s family and colleagues.
