Lone Star team owner Jerry Jones motivated the decision to renovate the facility, which is considered one of the best sports facilities in the world.
That was always the intention to keep it better than new, and that’s what we’re trying to do. We want it to look like day one.
Inaugurated in 2009, this AT&T stadium has a capacity of 80,000 spectators, which can be expanded to 100,000 for some events, and is notable for its 70,000 square foot screen, one of the largest in the world.
jones explained that the renovations mainly consist of a few specific points that are being addressed to make the place much more functional.
We will streamline some areas and move some stands. In addition, we plan to update and replace anything that looks outdated and improve the image quality of the screen.
This World Cup 2026 will take place in three countries: United States of America, in which it has not yet been decided in which cities and stadiums the matches will be played, Mexico and Canada.
In Mexico, the capital’s Aztec Stadium, one of the venues to host World Cup games, will also be renovated next year, preventing the NFL from hosting the 2023 regular season game.
NFL executive vice president Peter O’Reilly noted that the game was originally planned in Mexico. Likely made in Germany, a country that will host two games in the 2023 season.
Last November, Germany hosted its first regular season game at Munich’s Allianz Arena in front of 69,000 811 spectators when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers led by Tom Bradye beat them to the Seattle Seahawks.
