Cardiff City host Wigan Athletic this afternoon in the Welsh capital.

The Bluebirds are on an eight-game winless streak in all competitions, but the Latics are in poor form and both teams are looking for three points tonight.

The Bluebirds have had to deal with a serious illness at camp for the past two weeks and will have to factor that in today.

With a positive performance against Leeds United and the news that the transfer embargo has been lifted, Mark Hudson will be hoping that tonight’s victory will help to further lift the spirits as the club look to move away from the bottom three.

Starts at 15:00.

nkunku leaves

A bit of transfer news to share with you today.

“Everton” decided to recall Nils Nkunka, who was borrowed from “Cardiff City”, and return him to the French “Saint Etienne”.

A move to League Two looked like a real possibility in recent days as Nkunku appears to have fallen out of favor at the Cardiff City Stadium in recent weeks.

Reports in France earlier this week claimed that talks over another loan with Goodison Park were at an advanced stage and the Toffees had confirmed a deal to bring him back.

After last week’s FA Cup heroics, Cardiff City return to Championship action this afternoon.

They are up against a Wigan side who are currently bottom of the table and in desperate need of a win as they look to climb to safety.

Cardiff have not won since late October and have not drawn in their last three league games, but their performance against Leeds United last time out suggests they are capable of showing their teeth up front.

A win today will certainly alleviate their relegation concerns to some extent.
