Farewell to the Australian Open: Cabal and Farah eliminated

The Colombian couple Robert Farah and Juan Sebastián Cabal had to say goodbye to the Australian Open after losing 7-6 (7), 6-7 (8) and 6-2 to the French Benjamin Bonzi and Arthur Rinderknech at dawn this Monday in the third round of this competition.

The ‘tricolors’ had a tough job on field number 7 of the Australian stadium. Both Cabal and Farah were outclassed in two of the three sets played (with time-breaks in the first two: 7-6 and 6-7. The latter ended 6-2). The first sleeve was taken by the Europeans, the second by the South Americans, and the last by the Gauls.

In the second set it was thought that Bonzi and Rinderknech would win. However, the Colombian duo increased their performance and declared the tie.

Arriving on the set that would bring victory, the historic couple from our country would not have the same potential and would fall, significantly dominated by the aggressiveness of their rivals.

With this result, and after the eliminations of Daniel Galán and Camila Osorio in the first and second rounds respectively, Colombia has no more representatives in the current edition of the Australian Open.
