Gareth Bale, former Welsh international footballer for Real Madrid who announced his retirement as a professional player on January 9, will participate in the Pebble Beach Pro-Am (USA) next week and will fulfill his dream of playing on the PGA Tour, the most prestigious golf course.
This has been confirmed by himself, passionate about golf, on social networks. The Pebble Beach Pro-Am Pro-Am takes place February 2-5 at Pebble Beach Golf Links, Monterey Peninsula Country Club and Spyglass Hill Golf Club in California, United States.
“I’m excited to announce that I will be playing in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am early next month! Let’s go!” Bale wrote on his Instagram account.
Passionate about the sport, Bale has a 2 handicap and had replicas built of three of his favorite par 3s at his Cardiff residence: number 17 from TPC Sawgrass, the Royal Throne Stamp and number 12 from Augusta National, home of the Masters.
The tournament is played by 156 professionals and 156 amateurs. Bale teams up with a professional and plays the best ball for three days with the aim of making the cut in which the top 25 teams advance to the final round.
