Handball player Lois Abbingh secured an important transfer from Denmark’s Odense to Vipers Kristiansand. The Orange international has signed a two-season deal with the Norwegian club, which has won the Champions League for the past two years.
Abbingh, 30, who led the Netherlands to the World Cup title in Japan in 2019, gave birth last year and has been out of Odense for a while, now wants to take the lead again. “I still want to do it and I’m full of ambition,” she says. “I couldn’t turn it down: I’m really looking forward to it.”
Abbingh embarks on a sixth overseas adventure with his transfer to Norway. He previously played in Germany (Oldenburg), Romania (Baia Mare), France (Paris 92), Russia (Rostov-Don) and thus in Denmark.
Abbingh also says he wants to focus on Orange. The Handball World Championship 2025 will be held in the Netherlands and Germany. Abbingh wants to take part in this tournament.
