PSV has appointed Earnest Stewart as its new director of football affairs. He signed a contract until the summer of 2027. The 53-year-old former Willem II and NAC player currently holds the same position with the American Football Association.
Stewart will take office in Eindhoven on March 1 and will replace John de Jong, who left in September after failing to trust the board of directors.
“We took the time to look for someone with extensive and international experience,” says Marcel Brands, Managing Director. “Earnest fits this profile perfectly in his past and present role. That’s why we’re very pleased that it will strengthen our management team on March 1.”
Stewart grew up in Veghel and has also played for VVV-Venlo and American DC United alongside Willem II and NAC. The former attacker had 101 caps for the United States.
After his acting career, he became a Coach at VVV-Venlo, NAC Breda, AZ and Philadelphia Union.
In 2018, Stewart joined the American Football Association. He first served as the General Manager and later as the Director of Football Affairs.
