Swansea City are fans of Luton Town’s Harry Cornick but agreeing to sign the striker will be difficult.

The Swans are looking to bolster their striker options this month amid the long-awaited sale of Michael Obafemi to Burnley.

However, WalesOnline understands that they have yet to make a formal bid for Hatters leader Cornick and that Bristol City are also linked with a bid for the versatile striker.

The 27-year-old will be a free agent in the summer and could be available at a reduced price until 11pm on Tuesday. Despite the contractual situation, Luton are not looking to sell Cornick this month.

That means the Swans knew they had an uphill battle when it came to making a play for Cornik, and the Robins were widely considered the favorites to sign him at this point.

This comes as Nigel Pearson’s side are looking to sell Antoine Semenho to Bournemouth for around £9m, meaning they will likely have funds to burn in the last few moments of the window.

Cornick has been a key figure for Luton since moving to Kenilworth Road from Bournemouth in 2017. He was part of the side that won promotion from League Two in 2017/18 and also played a key role as the Hatters clinched the League title. League One. League One a year later. .

However, his influence at the club has waned of late, with Cornick playing all 90 games just once this season. He has made 22 appearances for the club in all competitions to date, with his two goals coming in January.

Meanwhile, the Swans have also been linked on loan from Aston Villa’s Kane Kesler-Hayden.

Russell Martin was eager to add a right-back to his ranks after failing to replace loan duo Hannes Wolff and Cyrus Christie last summer.

But a Swansea source tells WalesOnline there is still no deal for Kesler-Hayden.

The 20-year-old has spent the first half of the season on loan at Championship rivals Huddersfield Town, but the Terriers have struggled after a poor start to the campaign.

He made 15 appearances in all competitions for the West Yorkshire side, scoring once in a 2–1 win against Preston North End on Boxing Day.

He was recalled by his parent club Villa in mid-January and is now expected to return on loan to another Championship club until the end of the season.

Kesler-Hayden, who has also been loaned to Swindon Town and MK Dons, can play as a right-back, right-back or right midfielder.
