Through a statement published on social networks this Monday, the national teams emphasize:

After much deliberation we didn’t get a positive result, so we decided not to participate in the next series against the Chinese Taipei team.

And the national tennis players add:

The lack of communication, the lack of planning with the team and the lack of interest in finding the best playing conditions show that the situation was not managed properly and that personal interests prevailed over sports interests.

Official statement to the media and Mexican tennis.

Reasons why we will not participate in the Mexico Davis Cup vs Chinese Taipei on February 4-5 in Metepec, State of Mexico.

The players indicated that they had already communicated with the FMT, led by Carlos Ricardo González, about their reasons for not participating in the Davis Cup elimination.

It is sad that the FMT does not have the minimum standards of negotiation and planning with the best national representatives.

The statement was also signed by players Ernesto Escobedo, Lucas Gomez, Hans Hach, Gerardo Lopez and Manuel Sanchez.

González or an FMT spokesperson was not immediately available. Leave a comment.
