An immortal Chilean

A Chilean goal, with the Colombian national team, in Rio de Janeiro, against five-time champions Brazil and in a Copa América. More spectacular, impossible. Well, that goal, which finally catapulted Luis Díaz medially, was the one the farmer wanted to immortalize on one of his forearms.

The Liverpool winger, who is recovering from an injury that has taken him off the field since October 9, 2022, and from which he relapsed in January, recently turned to a Barranquilla tattoo artist to recreate that unforgettable move that brought him into the crosshairs of new to breathe life into the best teams in the world.

The person responsible for the execution of the work was Carlos Daniel Urueta Pérez, 24 years old, and better known in the world of tattoos as ‘Urueta Tatto’.

Carlos Daniel, who was in Amsterdam (Netherlands) at the invitation of a tattoo parlor, came to ‘Luchito’ through his great friend Daniel Esquiaqui, better known in the artistic world as ‘Dekko’, a singer of the urban genre.

“Dekko contacted me to see if I could go to England to tattoo Luis Díaz. At first I couldn’t believe it (laughs), but then they sent me cards and stuff and from one moment to the next I was with Luchito at his house, ready to tattoo him,” Carlos Daniel, who already had players like César Haydar , Fabián Ángel and one of the Barranquilla FC players.

“When I arrived, he already knew what he wanted to do. He asked me to tattoo the moment of the ball in that unforgettable Chilean goal against Brazil, in the Copa América. The same Copa América in which – together with Messi – he was a goalscorer and figure. That Copa América meant everything to him and what better way to remember that moment than to immortalize that great goal on his skin,” he added.

The tattoo took about three hours, says “Urueta Tatto.” “I lasted two to three days at his house. He acted like a king. That day I also tattooed Dekko and another friend of ours. We had an incredible time,” he says.

It was an honor for Carlos Daniel to tattoo the best Colombian player of the moment. He says the tattoo lived up to the former Junior player’s expectations and hopes it won’t be the last he gets.

“He told me he liked it. Although the tattoo was small, the details looked good. The truth was with the intention of not suing him. Imagine how I’m going to charge a figure like him. Just the Tattooing him is an honor for me, and I expressed it to him that way. But he insisted that no, that was my job and he ended up paying me (laughs),” he said.

‘Luchito’ has already immortalized that jewel that characterized Brazil. I’m sure there will be more goals to come, some better billed and at key moments too, but that one marked a before and after in his career without a doubt. Although he was already in Europe, that goal took his career to another level. Months later he signed for Liverpool where he is a figure today.

“He’s a crack, both as a player and as a person. And people like that always do well in life. I hope it’s the first of many tattoos he gets,” concluded ‘Urueta Tatto’.
