American car brand Ford has confirmed its right to return to Formula 1 when the new engine regulations are introduced in 2026.
At the presentation of the new RB19 of the Austrian F1 team, Red Bull Ford boss Jim Farley, in consultation with Christian HoernerTeam leaders, announced that the American brand will be the engine supplier for the team’s new vehicles from 2026.

Ford returns to the forefront of the sport, bringing Ford’s long legacy of innovation, sustainability and electrification to one of the world’s most visible stages.
Mohammed Ben Sulay, president of the FIA’s motorsport umbrella organisation, stressed: “Few manufacturers with such a storied history in motorsport as Ford see them return to the FIA Formula 1 World Championship. This is excellent news .”
