Russian and Ukrainian footballers clashed in a hotel in the Turkish city of Antalya, where their winter preparations are taking place, according to the Russian newspaper ‘Sport-Express’.
The brawl took place in the Royal Seginus hotel, where the players of the Russian Shinnik, who play in the second division, and the Ukrainian Minai, who play in the premier league, are currently staying.
According to Russian sources, the fight started when the Ukrainians tried to force a member of the Russian club to sing their country’s national anthem, after which they attacked a Shinnik football player in the elevator.
Instead, Ukrainian sources explain that the cause of the altercation was the inappropriate behavior with the hotel staff of a Russian who had consumed too much alcohol, which provoked the reaction of the Minai players.
Several Shinnik players took part in the first fight, so the fight eventually turned into a pitched battle, with several football players getting bruised.

The footballers were separated by both members of the club’s technical team and hotel staff.
Minai had expressly asked not to stay in the same hotel as other Russian teams, but the earthquake that shook the country forced several clubs to share accommodation.
After the conflict, the Shinnik leaders decided to leave the building for security reasons and move their players to another hotel.
According to the Russian press, Ukraine international Danil Sikan beat up a drunken Russian tourist in Turkey last January after shouting “Glory to Russia!” had called.
