Real take an easy win after World Cup title, Benzema makes history

Real Madrid gave a good continuation of winning the World Cup for the clubs. Elche’s last for the Spanish league was easily pushed aside at home: 4-0.

The match was played tonight only because Real was in Morocco last week for the World Cup. The Madridlians won the final 5-3 against Al-Hilal from Saudi Arabia on Saturday.

Real beat Elche, narrowing the gap to leaders FC Barcelona to eight points. Elche is desolate in the end with nine points. All other matches of the 21st round had already been played.

Real Madrid certainly did not need to overdo it. From the first minute, traffic was one-way. Eight minutes later, the ball went into the net for the first time. Marco Asensio scored a goal from the edge of the box (1:0) after an excellent individual action.

Real doubled the goal after half an hour. Karim Benzema turned the penalty after handball (2-0). Fifteen minutes later, Benzema scored again from eleven yards (3-0). In this case, the penalty was awarded because Rodrygo was knocked out.

Real relaxed in the second half. Yet another goal came. Luka Modric took a good 16-yard (4-0) field goal ten minutes later.

Benzema leaves club legend behind

Karim Benzema made history with his two goals. He has surpassed club legend Raul on the list of Real’s all-time top scorers. The French scored 230 goals in the league after tonight, while the Spanish scored 228.

Cristiano Ronaldo tops the list with 311 goals in La Liga.
