PSV rewards loyal Bakayoko with a new contract until 2026

PSV terminated Johan Bakayoko’s contract and extended his contract until the summer of 2026. The 19-year-old assailant turned down an offer from Paris Saint-Germain during the winter break.

Bakayoko has been playing for PSV since 2019 and made his official senior team debut in February 2022. The Belgian replaced Jong PSV coach Ruud van Nisterlooij as the winner of the Eindhoven club this season.

The young international has been preoccupied with injuries to Anwar El Ghazi and Thorgan Hazard lately and has scored two goals and two assists in their last four games with PSV.

Paris Saint-Germain wanted to buy Bakayoko in January for around €15 million, but the Belgian turned down the honor. “I want to be a champion here,” Bakayoko responded to his election at the time.
