forstappen, who is aiming for a third title in a row, became the first Formula One World Championship leader by winning this Sunday ahead of his teammate from the Czech Republic and Spain. Fernando Alonsowho finished on the podium in his first race with Aston Martin.
Alonso, 41, celebrated his 99th podium at the Circus Maximus, taking third place. The two-time world champion from Asturias is back on the podium a year and almost four months after he last did so, finishing third in November 2021 at the Qatar Grand Prix.

Spanish Carlos Sainzfrom Ferrari, finished in fourth position, and the “top five” was closed by the seven-time world champion Lewis Hamiltonfrom Mercedes. Canadian Lance Strollthe new partner of the Asturian genius, finished sixth ahead of another Mercedes, an Englishman George Russell.
