Barranquilla will host the Gilberto Mendoza Boxing Festival

Big events don’t stop happening. Barranquilla has been chosen to host one of the stops of the Gilberto Mendoza International Boxing Festival, an event in which all Caribbean leagues participate and which for this edition will commemorate the seventh anniversary of the death of the President Emeritus of the World Boxing Association (WBA) in the Sugar Baby Rojas Fighting Palace.

Next March 25 is the date when great fighters gather on a currambero stage. The Atlantic League will have its quota within the league, as well as those of Bolívar, Sucre, Córdoba, César, Guajira, Magdalena, the military league of the Armed Forces. It will be a talent exchange of fighters from different categories.

The Gilberto Mendoza Festival, now in its seventh edition, was created in honor of the former leader of the oldest boxing organization in the world, who passed away in 2016. Since 2017, it is held simultaneously in different locations. , with Venezuela being the most important, while it has had events in Panama and the United States.

The country’s best futures are expected to attend the event, as it could be an interesting preparation for the 2023 National Games that will take place in the Coffee Region.
