Hollywood’s Chinese Theater (TCL Chinese Theatre) this Wednesday celebrated a posthumous tribute to Kobe Bryant, whose hand and footprints were immortalized on the concrete floor of this emblematic movie theater.
Vanessa Bryant, widow of legendary Los Angeles Lakers basketball player, attended the event with her daughters Bianka, Capri and Natalia, who spoke in a tribute speech for her father.
“While most people knew him as a basketball player or as a storyteller, I could know and love him as my father. And let me tell you, he is the MVP of the ‘fathers of daughters’ to say the least,” said Natalia. Bryant.
Bryant, a five-time NBA champion with the Lakers, died in January 2020 in a helicopter crash that killed eight other people, including his daughter Gigi.
Fourth all-time scorer in the NBA (33,643 points) and an eternal myth for some Lakers who don’t forget their fierce and tireless competitive spirit, Bryant also triumphed off the courts, such as with the Oscar for Best Animated Short Film he won for “Dear Basketball” (2017).
