A group of human rights activists was delivered this Friday to UEFA petition signed by 17,000 people asking exclusion of Belarus qualifying stage Euro 2024.
Activists held a demonstration in front of the organization’s headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, where they protested against the participation of the Belarusian national team in the competition next Saturday against Switzerland in the Serbian city of Novi Sad.
Protesters carried banners calling for the Nobel Peace Prize. Ales Bialiatsky and the red cardboard they demanded “exile” Belarusian team from the qualifying period of the tournament, the final stage of which will be held next year in Germany.
By virtue of UEFA’s order, the Belarusian team will have to play all matches in which they play at home, on a neutral field and without the presence of the public.

This protest comes a week after several members European ParliamentSwiss deputies and organizations called on UEFA to cancel the participation of Belarus in the main football tournament of the continent.
Russia, an ally of Belarus in the international context, has already been excluded from the tournament and will not be able to fight for access to Euro 2024.
