Sacramento Kings break longest streak without playoffs with NBA record-breaking rookie Murray

The Sacrameto Kings have qualified for the NBA playoffs again after sixteen years. No team in the four major sports in the United States (basketball, soccer, ice hockey, and baseball) has waited this long.

It was a huge relief after we secured the ticket by beating the Portland Trail Blazers (120-80).

“Finally, giving fans this moment means everything to me,” Harrison Barnes said of the sentiment. “This is for all the fans who come to the arena every season for all the support they’ve given us over the years. After all the heartbreak, frustration and disappointment.”

Sacramento Kings 1951 NBA champion. Coach Mike Brown led the team to the playoffs as number three in the west.

Seven teams are already in the playoffs

The Denver Nuggets and Memphis Grizzlies also qualified in this division. The Milwaukee Bucks, Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers and Cleveland Cavaliers join the Eastern Conference.

There was more to celebrate when Keegan Murray recorded his 188th three-pointer of the season for the Kings in that game. Never before in NBA history has a rookie ever reached that number on the board in a single season.

“Seeing Keegan tonight as he played and worked hard all year was an incredible feat,” Brown said. “Something like that doesn’t come naturally.”

Murray, 22, dethroned Donovan Mitchell, who scored 187 three-pointers five years ago.
