CEO Pascal van Wijk is leaving Vitesse permanently. He has been missing in recent weeks after reporting ill at the club just above the major league relegation zone. “It’s hard to say goodbye, but Vitesse’s interests come first,” Van Wijk said in a press release.
“My four years as General Manager have been eventful and challenging. The last few months have been particularly busy,” said Van Wijk, noting, among other things, changes regarding the rental of the stadium. In addition, the team from Arnhem is still awaiting KNVB’s approval for the acquisition of the club by Coley Parry’s American investment firm, Common Group.
Van Wijk, who served in Vitesse for a total of 19 years, will be replaced by Peter Rovers for now. The commercial director took over from Van Wijk two weeks ago.
