Rahm drew a 69-shot card in the final round, with a single bogey and four birdies on three, eight, thirteen and fourteen. It is the second ‘big’ that the Spaniard has won after his victory at the US Open in 2021.

It is the sixth Masters won by Spanish golf after the two titles for Seve Ballesteros in 1980 and 1983, the two for José María Olazábal in 1994 and 1999, plus the one he won Sergio Garcia in 2017. This makes Rahm the fourth Spaniard to put on the green jacket, six years after Borriol’s.

The man from Barrika played golf intelligently and practically, improving his performance in the third round and making sure his shots didn’t miss. He improved on the greens and barely left the fairway, something his rivals couldn’t boast of.they left out many inaccuracies that led them away from the title options.
