4 Rotterdam deliverers died of serious abuse after arguing about a package

A package deliverer from Rotterdam who was severely beaten last week in Hoogvliet in South Holland, died of his injuries on Tuesday evening. The Public Prosecution Service (OM) announced this on Wednesday.

The attack took place on February 21. The Rotterdam man, 29, and the 42-year-old delivery man could not agree on a package. The Rotterdammer was arrested after the incident.

After the attack, the injured were taken to hospital. The police spoke of a “worrying health condition”.

While the public prosecutor in a tweet expressed his condolences to the next of kin of the victim, he said that the suspicions about the suspect in the manslaughter would only increase. “The investigation continues. We call on anyone who sees or hears it to report it to the police.”

PostNL says it is shocked and deeply saddened by the terrible news of the death of our delivery person. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues. We are there for them and will support them as much as possible in these difficult times. It is strange and unacceptable for a delivery person to be exposed to aggression or violence while performing his duties. †
