Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso said this Wednesday that he will remain in the aspiring team for next season, despite everything that has been said about his future since he has been linked with teams like Real Madrid or Tottenham.
“I am very happy with the team and the club. I am not thinking about my future yet. I am completely focused on what I want. I have discussed it with everyone who should know,” the coach said at the press conference ahead of the semi-final return against Roma.
When asked if this means he will stay with Leverkusen next season, he simply replied: “Yes, that’s right.”
“I hope this is not our last semi-final together, but our first,” he said, looking at midfielder Florian Wirtz, who was also present and rumored.
