The Sub-15 Atlantic Team, National Championship finalist

The Atlántico U-15 team qualified for the final of the National Football Championship for the second year in a row, after beating Risaralda 4-3 in the penalty shootout, after drawing 1-1 in the semi-final played in Ibague.

It is the second time that these two teams are tied, as they also recorded that result in the capital of Tolima in the previous Zonal.

On this occasion, Atlántico started winning in minute 19. After a cross into the area, a player from Risaraldense parried badly, defender Billy De la Rosa controlled the ball with his chest and then touched it with his right foot; Before it reached the goalkeeper, Junior Brito appeared in the box, dived to the ground and scored with his left foot.

The Caribbean Coast team, which dominated the early part of the match, fell away in the closing minutes and their rivals took the opportunity to equalize on 41′ through a header from defender Carlos Vega.

The Atlantic team regained control of the game in the additional leg and came close to converting the second at 23′, with a right-hand shot from Philippe Oviedo hitting the crossbar.

Oviedo himself and Brainer Pino had other chances, but did not score, parity was maintained and the first finalist had to be defined from the white point.

In that series, the big figure was goalkeeper Luis Coneo, who saved two attacks. Then Johan Brausin hit the latter to further fuel the dream of retaining last year’s Barranquilla title and clinching the two-time championship.

The rojiblanco team’s rival in the final is Valle del Cauca. The match for the title is next Monday in the capital Tolima. For the time being, the start is scheduled at 3 p.m
