Alfredo Morelos will leave Rangers at the end of the season

Colombian Alfredo Morelos will leave Glasgow Rangers at the end of the season, when his contract with the Scots expires.

Morelos, who joined Rangers from Helsinki in 2017, scored 124 goals in 268 games with the Scots, provided 58 assists, became the club’s top scorer in Europe and, under Steven Gerrard’s management, contributed to winning the 55th league of the Protestants two years ago.

Aged 26, Morelos decided not to renew with the Scots and will decide his future in the coming weeks, with the interest of several European clubs, who have already sought his services in recent seasons.

In March, Rangers coach Michael Beale denied that Morelos had already signed a provisional contract with Sevilla and denied having any problem with the striker, relegating him to substitution at various stages of the season.

This course, Morelos has scored twelve goals and made seven assists in 44 games with Rangers. The former Independiente de Medellín player has been the team’s top scorer for four consecutive seasons, the club’s best player in 2019 and 2022 and the Scottish League Golden Boot in 2019, as well as being part of the best team in the Players Union in Scotland in three seasons.

Morelos leaves Rangers as the foreign player with the most goals (124), with the most goals in Europe (29) and as the player who has scored the most consecutive games, seven in the 2018–19 season.
