Many thanks to Yamil Bukele for the great effort they put in El Salvador to organize these games. Kindling a new fire is transcendent; it means bringing these countries together in the Central American and Caribbean Games with a message of peace, respect and a desire for a just victory.

XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games will be made from from June 23 to July 8 V San Salvador.

The new fire was lit in base of the pyramid of the moon which is located in Archaeological zone of Teotihuacanas it has been since the first regional fair in 1926.

The ceremony is ancient Mesoamerican ritual which took place every 52 years in different prehispanic cultures, with him they celebrated end and start of a new cycle which today is the starting point for these games.

Yamil Bukele called this ceremony chance for rebirth for this edition of the Central American Fair, after Panamaoriginal headquarters, could not implement them due to the destruction left COVID-19 pandemic.

XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games to be held in San Salvador will open their doors in 36 countries which will send about 5,500 athletes to participate in 53 disciplines.

Also present at the ceremony of lighting a new fire were Armando Bruni, President of the El Salvador Olympic Committee and Delmi Kanas, Ambassador of El Salvador to Mexico.

Among the former Mexican sports figures, Olympic medalists, were Jesus Mena, Carlos Mercenario, Iridia Salazar, Joel Sanchez and Fernando Platas.
