Paraguay’s National Police reported the arrest of 24 Atlético Nacional fans on Thursday after causing a disturbance at the end of the training of the Colombian team players near Conmebol’s headquarters, in the town of Luque, bordering Asunción.
The riots started Wednesday night after police officers tried to clear the area where the followers were concentrated, the deputy chief of Luque’s 3rd police station, Commissioner Rodolfo Sánchez, told Telefuturo.
“We asked them to withdraw and since they ignored our request, we approved it, by force and of course the detention of some who remained there and opposed our request,” Sánchez said.
