International Boxing Association (IBA) believes that the decision of the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee to recommend to the Assembly that the recognition of the Boxing Organization be withdrawn is “aberrationwhich is strictly in the political interest and reserves the “right to retaliate”.
“Now we have no choice but to demand a fair assessment from a competent court,” said IBA President, Russian Umar Kremlev.
The federation was temporarily suspended by the IOC in 2019 after noticing numerous irregularities in governance, finances and arbitration.
How did it happen before Tokyo Games 2020The International Olympic Committee took over the pre-Olympic tournaments until Paris 2024with a calendar of competitions that the IBA has challenged by organizing its own program.

The IBA released a report on Tuesday with its reforms, hoping the IOC would rehabilitate them, but this Wednesday the Olympic body’s leadership reviewed them and concluded that they did not meet the conditions it demanded in 2021 to lift the sanction. .
However, the executive branch will also recommend to the session, which will meet on June 22 to study this issue, to keep boxing in the sports program of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
The IBA’s response was immediate and, according to the statement, it said it was “ready to act”.
The IBA considers the recommendation of the IOC Executive Board to withdraw recognition of the IBA as aberrational and purely political, as all the efforts made by the IBA with its democratically elected leadership were largely ignored and not considered by the IOC.
Finally, the letter is added.
The IBA, as the headquarters of boxing, reserves the right to retaliate as the organization in its current state will never accept claims that it does not meet the standards of good governance or that it does not deserve its place in the Olympic Movement. . . . In addition, the IBA categorically rejects all allegations that it has jeopardized the reputation of the Olympic Movement, but rather respects and follows the recommendations of the IOC.
