A late own goal gives Juventus victory in the first semi-final Coppa Italia

Juventus performed well in the first semi-final of the Italian Cup by beating Fiorentina 1-0. The ‘Old Woman’ was greatly helped by the local team.

The match was dominated by the return of Dusan Vlahovic. The Serbian striker moved from Florence to Turin this winter and was therefore not allowed to join. He whistled throughout the game and was the subject of Fiorentina’s typhoid banners.

The hostile atmosphere did not help either team play in the first half. On the visitors side, Vlahovice shot weakly and Jonathan Ikoné shot from the open for Fiorentina.

The home team had a small lead, Ikone saw it end up on the post after the break, but in the end Juventus took all the loot. A tight cross from Juan Cuadrado was unfortunately pushed into the goal by Lorenzo Venuti at the time of the injury.
