This was Leicy Santos’ goal against England that made a country dream

The first half of the Colombian national team against England was tight and closed, but it has not given up on the dream of reaching the semi-finals of the World Cup that takes place in Australia and New Zealand.

It was a tough fight and although those led by Nelson Abadía had chances to open the scoring and endanger England goalkeeper Mary Earps’ goal, they only saw the goal in minute 44 with a work from Leicy Santos.

The Cordoba woman thrilled an entire country who shouted the big goal after a landing down the right wing. The creative midfielder, who plays for Atlético Madrid, fired a right hand that left the rival goalkeeper unable to do anything, despite stretching to prevent the ball from entering.

The party didn’t last long, however, as in the 6th minute of extra time in the first half, attacker Lauren Hemp discounted the score and made it 1-1.
