After his re-election, Coe noted:
I am grateful for the support and happy to see that even more of the commitments we made during the governance reform process in 2016 have been realized with the election of the first World Athletics Joint Gender Council four years ahead of schedule.
And I add:
The work is not yet done, and we need to continue to achieve gender parity in all our representative bodies. The strength of our sport lies in its diversity and this must be reflected in our governance at all levels.
