Bayern also won their third Champions League match, beating Inter Salzburg

Bayern Munich won its third Champions League match by beating Galatasaray 1-3 in Turkey. Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, who were born in the Netherlands but played for Morocco, played the entire match for the Germans.

Bayern had previously beaten FC Copenhagen and Manchester United. Galatasaray – after drawing against the Danes in their first match – had a surprise win against Erik ten Hags United at Old Trafford.

Bayern’s early leader Panenka Icardi

The current number two in the Turkish league fell behind after eight minutes in Istanbul. French international Kingsley Coman took advantage of the wrong decision and calmly made the score 0-1.

Immediately afterwards, Kerem Aktürkoğlu’s overhead kick was cleverly parried by Bayern’s goalkeeper Sven Ulreich. A minute later, the same goalkeeper let the cross slip away and Aktürkoğlu sent the ball into the empty goal with a wild shot. Galatasaray then remained strong, with Bayern mostly on the counter-attack.

Within half an hour, Galatasaray’s striker Mauro Icardi was defeated by Joshua Kimmich and Min-jae Kim in the penalty area. He scored the penalty to Panenka himself: 1:1. Then the biggest chance left to the Turks. Aktürkoğlu shot one-on-one against Ulreich and Icardi’s attempt went just wide of the goalpost before half-time after Kimmich lost the ball.

In the second half, the game was back and forth with both sides’ positions. In the 74th minute, Harry Kane, who was not on the game at all, fumbled the ball for Bayern when he suddenly found the ball at his feet after a collision. Hakim Ziyech entered the game immediately and returned after a month’s break due to injury.

After taking the lead again, FC Bayern controlled the game and five minutes later, German international Jamal Musiala scored the last goal: 1:3.

Inter beat Salzburg

In Group D, Internazionale – with Denzel Dumfries and Stefan de Vrij in the starting line-up – had to play against Red Bull Salzburg, who initially had the best chance. Nevertheless, the Italians took the lead after nineteen minutes through Chilean veteran Alexis Sánchez.

After almost an hour of play, the Austrians suddenly scored 1-1 in Milan, thanks to the great Israeli talent Oscar Gloukh, who fired a fierce shot past Inter goalkeeper Yann Sommer.

Inter woke up and soon had the perfect opportunity to take the lead again. Hakan Çalhanoğlu kept his cool in the penalty shoot-out after the foul he committed in the penalty area: 2-1. Davy Klaassen entered the game instead of Inter, but could not see Salzburg’s last attack that resulted in a goal.
