Gravenberch receives huge applause for Liverpool’s victory, Dallinga also scores

Liverpool, with Ryan Gravenberch in the starting five, defeated Toulouse 5-1 in the Europa League. The midfielder played well and also scored, but he was not the only Dutchman to score in this match.

Thijs Dallinga helped Toulouse level the score at 1-1. Liverpool had Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo on the bench with a knee injury. The second came as a substitute in the second half.

Liverpool is at the top of Group E with three wins. Toulouse are second with four points, with Dallinga and Stijn Spierings.

Dallinga briefly brings tension

Liverpool took the initiative at the beginning of the match. Diogo Jota scored with a beautiful individual move in the ninth minute.

Dallinga scored a great goal in the 16th minute. The Dutch striker slipped past England defenders into the penalty area and fired the ball low into the left corner.

Then it moved up and down a bit. Toulouse could not punch the number four team in the Premier League. A quickly taken corner gave Liverpool the lead again. Trent Alexander-Arnold showed off his superb shooting technique and passed the ball beautifully to Wataru Endo, who slotted the ball into the net.

A little later, in the 34th minute, it was Darwin Núñez who put the ball into the left corner after a rebound. The referee checked with the video referee whether the goal was valid due to alleged handball, but this was unsuccessful for Toulouse.

Gravenberch makes an impression

The powerful Gravenberch could rebound with a clever move in the 56th minute. His shot was narrowly blocked by Restes’ foot. He then tried again from distance, but the goalkeeper prevailed again.

Gravenberch’s goal finally came in the 65th minute. Uruguayan striker Núñez deftly outpaced the goalkeeper after the counter-attack but fired a hard shot onto the post. The ball came to Gravenberch and Gravenberch remained calm and made the score 4-1. Shortly afterwards, the Dutch midfielder was replaced by Mohamed Salah, to great applause.

In the final stage, the Egyptian scored his fifth goal.
