Joe Marler was accused of disrespecting World Rugby president Bill Beaumont at the final bronze medal ceremony.

England beat Argentina 23-26 in Friday night’s third-place play-off in Paris as Steve Borthwick’s side exit the 2023 Rugby World Cup on a high.

The Red Roses received their bronze medals after the match, which were presented by World Rugby officials, with Beaumont shaking hands with the players.

Many rugby fans also noticed the alleged snub online, with some even coming to Marler’s defense in Hood’s replies section.

“It shows he has principles after his harsh comments about how the game is played. “It’s a good thing he wasn’t a hypocrite.” wrote one.

“Come on, Andy! How respectful is Bill Beaumont of the global game under his leadership? “It’s not right for this friend, but Marler shows the same feeling that most rugby fans feel.” said another.
