Former England star Steven Gerrard is the coach of Al-Ettifaq. Saudi Arabia’s number seven also has a contract with 90-time Dutch international Georginio Wijnaldum.
Dramatic season in Ajax
Bergwijn is having a dramatic season at Ajax. The attacker, who was appointed captain at the beginning of the season, is in seventeenth place in the Premier League after seven matches with Ajax.
Bergwijn transferred to Ajax from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2022. Amsterdammers paid a record amount of 31.25 million euros for the left winger, who started his career at PSV.
