29-year-old short stop Corey Seager was named Most Valuable Player of the World Series this Wednesday, which his team, the Texas Rangers, won for the first time by winning four of five games against the Arizona Diamondbacks, the last by 5 -0.
The former Dodgers player added his second individual award. The first was achieved in 2020, precisely as a player in the Los Angeles team.
In the five games of the World Series that concluded Wednesday, Seager was hitting .285, with three home runs, six runs scored and six RBIs.
The one from Charlotte (North Carolina) hit a homerun in the ninth inning of the first game to send the outcome to extra innings.
His two remaining home runs came in the third and fourth games, both with two runs and then two outs.
In Wednesday’s game, Seager ended Zac Gallen’s no-hitter by hitting a hit to left field in the seventh inning. With this maneuver he scored the Rangers’ first point.
“I am fortunate to belong to this organization. We have to give a lot of credit to the unity we had this season,” the Rangers shortstop said after the win.
