Louis Rees-Zammit takes the Strictly star to a party in Cardiff with his mum

Louis Rees-Zammit took his new date to a party in Cardiff and his mum also joined the party.

Welsh winger and former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Saffron Barker arrived in town on Saturday night with friends including Welsh world boxing champion Joe Cordina and his wife Lauren.

It comes just days after Reese-Zammit and Barker made their first public appearance together, when they attended the world premiere of the new Hunger Games film in London. Barker is a social media influencer and YouTube star from Brighton with over 2 million subscribers.

This time the couple, who are reportedly “dating”, got a taste of the Welsh capital’s nightlife while Barker traveled from London. They visited several bars in the city center including Mocka Lounge on Mill Lane and Flight Club. Barker also shared photos of her lunch at the highly regarded Pasture restaurant.

And among the group on the night was Rees-Zammit’s mother Maxine, who recently starred in a documentary about the 22-year-old Welsh star ahead of the Rugby World Cup. The winger posted a cute photo of himself and his mother on Instagram during a night out, describing her as “my world”.

During the documentary about her son, Maxine spoke about the increasing attention she received after his birth.

“Being Louie’s mom, he gets a lot of attention from the girls,” she said. “There comes a point where I have 806 requests [on social media] And I look at the photos and they’re all girls and I’m like, “I wonder why they want to follow me!”

Rees-Zammit is one of the most sought-after players in world rugby and makes a point of taking advantage of every opportunity that arises on and off the field.

Previously he said: “I want to be able to travel the world [during my career]”, he said. “I want to have a good life and I want to enjoy it. I want to take a lot of vacations. I definitely want to live abroad when I grow up. I think I just have to wait for the right time.”
