Thijs Dallinga will join the Dutch national team for the first time in his career on Tuesday morning. The Toulouse striker was called up on the grounds that Ajax’s attackers Brian Brobbey and Steven Bergwijn could not play due to their injuries.
Dallinga, 23, has scored four goals in the French League this season and three in the Europa League, including home and away games against Liverpool.
Dallinga moved to France at the start of last season after spending more than a year at Excelsior. He became the top scorer of the Rotterdam team in the first league.
The native of Groningen, who grew up in the villages of Siddeburen and Hellum, previously played for FC Groningen and FC Emmen.
Earlier, Nathan Aké also left the game with an injury at the last minute for the Dutch team, which would have to make do without many defenders in the next two qualifying matches.
