90 years in prison for suspect in Gravel cyclist Wilson’s murder

A court in Austin, USA, sentenced Kaitlin Armstrong to 90 years in prison for the murder of gravel cyclist Moriah Wilson.

This brings an end to a murder case that has long gripped the cycling world, especially the international gravel community.

crime of passion

Moriah “Mo” Wilson was a rising star in gravel racing. The 25-year-old’s body was found at a friend’s home in Austin, Texas, on May 11, 2022. He looked like he had been shot.

Armstrong was quickly revealed as the suspected perpetrator. Possibly a crime of passion: He is the partner of Colin Strickland, another big name in the audio world, with whom Wilson had a brief affair.

After moving into a friend’s house on May 11, Wilson went to the pool in Austin with her longtime boyfriend, Strickland. At 8:35 p.m., Strickland took her home on his motorcycle and set off.

Less than five minutes later, security cameras recorded a black SUV driving down the street and stopping in front of the home where Wilson was located. A Jeep that turned out to be registered to Strickland. His girlfriend Kaitlin’s Jeep.

Armstrong was already a fugitive at this point. He was last seen at Austin airport, where he boarded a flight to New York. He was carrying a yoga mat on his back.

A few weeks later, Armstrong was arrested in a hostel in Costa Rica. It was revealed that she had plastic surgery on her nose and had a different hair style. He made another unsuccessful escape attempt on October 11.

Armstrong, who will turn 36 in four days, will spend his birthday behind bars.
