These are the headlines from Swansea City for Saturday 18th November.

Three Swan Windows Strategy

Swansea chairman Andy Coleman said the January transfer window has been open since September and revealed the club is working on a three-window transfer strategy.

Michael Duff’s side have had a busy summer in the transfer market, their busiest for some time, but it is clear that more work needs to be done to strengthen the Northern Irishman’s options to help the club climb the table.

Coleman, in an updated message to fans, says his ambitions remain the same – that the club should be a promotion challenger – and details the transfer work going on behind the scenes at Fairwood.

“The ambition to be a competitive championship team that should fight for promotion has not changed, nor have my expectations,” he said.

But there must also be realism after major changes to the squad and club.

“We continue to build processes that will allow us to work smart and efficiently on and off the field. We have been preparing for the upcoming January transfer window since September and are also currently working on a three-window strategy to help us not only in the next window but also in the ones after that.

“As part of this initiative, we recently appointed Gavin Levy as director of our academy.

“The academy is a huge part of this club’s history and future and I have no doubt that Gavin will be a fantastic addition given his excellent experience in player development.”

Lowe: We need to work on trust

Swansea striker Jamal Lowe said “the chains came off” when they played Ipswich Town 1-0.

The Tractor Boys won 3-2 at Landor last weekend despite trailing, with Jay Fulton putting the hosts ahead after seven minutes.

But Low believes the goal almost ruined his game plan.

“It was a difficult game. They are one of the best teams in the championship, they play good football and know how to mix it up.” he said. “We could have played a little more. I think we were forced to play longer and we didn’t like that, we don’t have the personnel for that style of play.

“We started well and won 1-0, but at that moment the ties were loosened. It should be the opposite, you should be winning 1-0 and confidence should be high. This is something we can work on and do better.

“I felt we could have done a lot better with a few goals. Jack Taylor’s goal is an incredible shot, but we probably should have saved better with the second shot and the penalty.”

He added: “I scored a goal and an assist, but being extremely critical I thought I should have scored two goals. But we have to keep working to make those goals and assists count and not just get there.”

Cullen was left out

Swansea striker Liam Cullen has been left out of Rob Page’s squad for Wales’ crucial Euro 2024 qualifier against Armenia this afternoon.

Paige opted to have attacking threats Brennan Johnson and Daniel James on the bench, while David Brooks started the attack alongside Kieffer Moore and Harry Wilson.

Swans defender Ben Kabango was named among the substitutes. You can follow live updates here.
