“Colts Nation will always remember the palpable energy of “The Madman.” “I was on the field for every tackle, every interception, every hit and every fumble,” the team owner wrote in an announcement.

Shaquille He was selected by the Colts in the second round of the 2018 draft. He received high praise in his rookie season; named Defensive Rookie of the Year thanks to the 163 tackles and seven sacks he recorded.

In six seasons with the Indianapolis Linebacker, the 28-year-old, who is now a free agent, was selected to the Pro Bowl four times, leading to him being considered one of the best defenders in the NFL.

His departure from the team took place because he underwent surgery to correct a back injury he suffered last season and therefore missed the first part of this season.

When he returned, the player was spotted. Lack of speed and strength, a situation that frustrated him.

“They say I don’t play enough games for the team, so I think I will continue to monitor my performance. a while to see what happens to me,” he said a month ago.

So far this campaign, the former South Carolina State Bulldogs star has racked up 65 tackles.

His defeat, the team owner said, leaves a void for the leadership he contributed to during his six years with the team.

“He was a leader. We are grateful to Shaq and the contributions he has made to our organization. We wish him and his wonderful family all the best for the future,” added Jim Irsay.

An opinion also shared by the Colts coach: Shane Steichen.

I am grateful for the energy Shaq brings to our team every day. He is a competitor, a leader and respected by his peers. I wish you the best.
