Gabriela Bolle wins the silver medal in the women’s BMX

The Atlantic athlete has been competing hand in hand with the experienced Mariana Pajón for a long time. In the past Santiago Pan American Gamesthe woman from Antioquia won the gold and the woman from Barranquilla the bronze, giving the country two more medals in the second most important sporting events in the world.

Going hand-in-hand with one of the best athletes in Colombian history has served this young athlete well. Even Pajón, after finishing the competition, emphasized the level that Bolle has reached and assured that she can now “retire peacefully” because she is there to take her place.

“I know the Atlantic government has done the best with its runners, it shows in the talent and results. Not in the future, in the present, at this moment I couldn’t imagine that one day I would say: I’m leaving the sport and someone comes along, I saw it as distant. Now it is a reality, I can retire quietly, although I still have to give the pedal, but it is a pride to say that I am there as a champion with runners who are with me,” said the experienced Pajón.

“The results in the sport have an important combination: a good setting, a good coach and the support so that the runners can progress, you see that in the Atlantic,” he added.
